‘’Shouldn’t I be a thankful slave of God ?!’’ ((Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad SAW) you have a good example to follow))
(May peace and blessings of God Almighty be upon him).
Who is Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, the Prophet of Islam?
He was by far the most remarkable man to have ever set foot on this earth. He preached a religion, founded a state, built a nation, laid down a moral code, initiated numberless social and political reforms, established a dynamic and powerful society to practice and represent his teachings, and completely revolutionized the worlds of human thought and action for all times to come.
What do you think of a man?
Whose father died when he was in his mother's womb?
Whose mother passed away when he was only 6 years old?
He lived in the house of his grandfather.
The compassionate grandfather died too when he reached 8 years old.
And then he lived in the house of his uncle.
He married a wife whom he loved so much called Khadija.
Then his wife dies, and his uncle dies too.
In one year called (The year of grief ,)
His male children died before they reached 2 years old.
All of his daughters died in his lifetime.
Except for his beloved Fatima
Who also followed him after 6 months of his death
His uncle Hamza killed, and his body was torn apart, and [his liver was taken out to be eaten Not authentic]
This man was also expelled from Taif city in Arabia, and young men threw stones at him.
and insulted Him, but he forgave them.
When he was in the battle of UHUD they broke his teeth and injured him,
the blood flowed from his face
He prostrated, and they put camel viscera
(what comes out of a camel after giving birth) on his head .
However, he remained prostrated till they came and removed everything.
Then he pardoned them.
They tightened his clothes around his neck until he almost suffocated.
Then he forgave them
They put thorns and dirt in his way
Then he forgave them
They inserted iron in his face
They bewitched him
And he was expelled from his city: Mekka
Then he forgave them
Then after all this he prays night prayers till his feet split !
When he was asked by Aicha his wife, may Allah be pleased with her. Why all those messengers of God, what do you do while all your sins are forgiven??
He replied :
Quran
So ask [Allah to send] His blessing upon him who longed for us but did not see us.
Send your Salat and (ask Allah to bless) him who will say on the Day of Resurrection :
‘’O my nation, my nation’’ [To intercede for us]
May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him
Do you know who He is ? He is Our beloved Prophet of Islam Muhammad peace be upon Him!!
-Muhammad was born in Makkah in the year 570. Since his father died before his birth and his mother died shortly thereafter when he was 6, he was raised by his uncle who was from the respected tribe of Quraysh.
He was raised illiterate, unable to read or write, and remained so till his death.
His people, before his mission as a prophet, were ignorant of science and most of them were illiterate.
As he grew up, he became known to be truthful, honest, trustworthy, generous, and sincere.
He was so trustworthy that they called him the Trustworthy.
Muhammad was very religious, and he had long detested the decadence and idolatry of his society.
-At the age of forty, Muhammad received his first revelation from God through the Angel Gabriel. The revelations continued for twenty-three years, and they are collectively known as the Quran.
As soon as he began to recite the Quran and to preach the truth that God had revealed to him, he and his small group of followers suffered persecution from unbelievers. The persecution grew so fierce that in the year 622 God gave them the command to emigrate. This emigration from Makkah to the city of Madinah, some 260 miles to the north, marks the beginning of the Muslim calendar.
-After several years, Muhammad and his followers were able to return to Makkah, where they forgave their enemies.
Before Muhammad died, at the age of sixty-three, the greater part of the Arabian Peninsula had become Muslim, and within a century of his death, Islam had spread to Spain in the West and as far East as China.
Among the reasons for the rapid and peaceful spread of Islam were the truth and clarity of its doctrine. Islam calls for faith in only one God, Who is the only one worthy of worship.
The Prophet Muhammad was a perfect example of an honest, just, merciful, compassionate, truthful, and brave human being.
Though he was a man, he was far removed from all evil characteristics and strove solely for the sake of God and His reward in the Hereafter. Moreover, in all his actions and dealings, he was ever mindful and fearful of God.
Who is Muhammad (peace be upon him)?
“Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example to follow for whoever hopes in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.”
Quran 33:21
Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the final Prophet in a long chain of Prophets sent to call the people to the obedience and worship of God alone (‘Allah’ in Arabic).
Some of these Prophets include Adam, Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon and Jesus (peace be upon them all).
Just as Moses (peace be upon him) was sent with the Torah (the original uncorrupted revelation sent to Moses)
and Jesus (peace be upon him) with the Gospel (the original, uncorrupted revelation – not the present-day versions),
Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent with the Quran to demonstrate how its teachings should be applied.
5/ He was a Mercy to all mankind
“And We (God) have not sent you (Muhammad) except as a mercy for mankind.”
Quran 21:107
As well as calling people to pray, fast and give charity, the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught that one’s faith in God should also affect one’s treatment of others.
He said:
“The best of you are those who have the best character.”
Many sayings of the Prophet (peace be upon him) emphasise the relationship between belief and action, for example:
“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should not hurt his neighbour, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should serve his guests generously, and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should speak what is good or keep quiet.”
The final Messenger (Peace be upon him) taught humans to show mercy and to respect each other:
“He who does not show mercy to others, will not be shown mercy.”
In another narration, some people requested the Prophet (peace be upon him) to invoke God to punish the disbelievers but he replied:
“I have not been sent as one to curse but as a mercy.”
Teaching of prophet Muhammad about tolerance
The requirements for being tolerant:
1– To take the nafs (yourself) into account:
“Do not overlook your sins due to loving yourself.”
2– To cover people’s faults:
the Prophet says:
“Whoever covers someone’s fault in this world, Allah will cover his faults on Doomsday.”
3– To overcome anger: The righteous… who restrain anger and pardon (all) men; for God loves those who do good.”
“The powerful one is not someone who defeats his opponent in wrestling. It is the one who restrains himself during times of anger.”
4– To be forgiving:
“(Hey Nabi!) Hold on to forgiveness; command what is right; But turn away from the ignorant.”
5– Do not curse others:
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said,
“I was not sent to curse. I was sent as a mercy.”
6– Do not be suspicious:
“O ye who believe! Avoid suspicion as much as possible: for suspicion in some cases is a sin.”
7– Avoid haughtiness and pride:
“And swell not thy cheek (for pride) at men, nor walk in insolence through the earth; for God loveth not any arrogant boaster.”
On this subject the Prophet states:
“It is enough evil to condescend on one’s Muslim brother.”
8– Do not make fun of people:
“O ye who believe! Let not some men among you laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the former.”
9– To be patient: There are more than seventy verses in the Quran that mention patience.
The Prophet said:
“No one has been blessed with a better gift than patience.”
Prophet Muhammad pbuh
Muhammad peace be upon him. Messenger of islam.
His Name : Muhammad, son of Abdullah, tribe of the Quraysh Place of birth : Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The prophet’s mission : Allah sent him with his final message -(islam)- to all mankind, to all people of all races , classes and colours.
The Quran says:
“Say (Muhammad): O Mankind! I am the messenger of Allah to you all”.
So we firmly believe that the prophet Muhammad is the seal of the prophets and messenger, no prophet after him.
61:6 ,Quran 6. And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said,
"O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidence, they said, "This is obvious magic."
The fact that the Prophet (peace be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah indicates that we must believe everything he says and obey every command he gives. It goes without saying that he has given us instructions and rules that we must follow and that these rules are given in accordance to what Allah revealed to him. REMEMBER .. Islam is the final message from Allah , it abrogated all previous messages and laws, and thus no religion will be acceptable to Allah after Muhammad’s mission except Islam.
Worshipping Allah as He wants and ordered can only be done by following Prophet Muhammad’s guidance.
The Quran says,
“If anyone desires anything other than Islam as a religion, it will not be accepted from him, and in the next world he will be among the losers.”
The greatest blessing is the blessing of faith, and since prophet Muhammad is the one by means of whom Allah brings people from darkness into light; So he (the Prophet Muhammad) pbuh deserves that his share of a person’s love should be greater than anyone else’s.
Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And We have sent you (O Muhammad ) except as a mercy to the worlds (mankind, jinns and all that exists)”
[Quran, 21:107].
So following, honouring, loving and respecting the prophet Muhammad is a duty upon every muslim and as the person goes deeper in following and loving the prophet as his faith strengthens and as he becomes closer to Allah as Allah has told us that obedience to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is obedience to Allah. Allah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“He who obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah; but those who turn away –We have not sent you over them as a guardian.”
[Quran 4:80]
