...They said, “We killed the Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of God.” They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but the likeness of him was put on another man (and they killed that man)...
Jesus in Islam
We can start by sending a summary of our belief in Jesus peace be upon him .. if he refuses a point ..then we explain more
Allow me to show you that only Islam honours Jesus .
Our beliefs in Jesus
Here is a summary of our beliefs regarding Jesus:
1. Jesus is one of the greatest prophets in Islam ,together with other prophets.
They were all special and they were all humans like us.
None of them must be worshipped .
We only worship God who sent them.
2. We believe that Jesus was a noble Messenger of God but not a divine God nor a son of God!
God has no sons ,
no family,
He does not give birth.
3. We love Jesus and obey his true teachings . We pray like him and fast like him and a person won't lose Jesus if they accept Islam, but they will correct their faith in him.
4. Jesus was not crucified. He was saved and raised by God, and he will return to earth near the end of time.
5. We believe that Jesus did not die for sin!
Simply because God just forgives us out of his mercy and grace. He doesn’t need a price to forgive, just repent and you'll be forgiven .
Nobody has to die for our sins.We simply ask for forgiveness and He forgives us.
Now explaining in detail.
Jesus is one of the greatest prophets in Islam, together with other prophets.
They were all special and they were all humans like us none of them must be worshipped , We only worship God who sent them.
We believe that Jesus was a noble Messenger of God but not a divine God nor a son of God!
God has no sons
no family, He does not give birth.
We love Jesus, obey his true teachings, pray like him, fast like him, And a person won't lose Jesus if they accept Islam but they will correct their faith in him.
Jesus was born of virgin Mary, without a father ,or any male intervention, but this does not mean he is divine, we consider (His birth to be a miracle ) and that Jesus was not the son of God, nor does God have sons
He did many miracles with God's permission
He talked to people directly after birth, He gave life to the dead with God’s permission, and he healed those born blind and the lepers with God’s permission.
Jesus is honoured only in Islam.
Let me show you how.
Muslims believe that Jesus was not crucified. It was the plan of Jesus’ enemies to crucify him, but God saved him and raised him up to Him. And the likeness of Jesus was put over another man. Jesus’ enemies took this man and crucified him, thinking that he was Jesus.
Almighty God says in the Quran :
(Quran, 4:157)
We believe that Jesus did not die for sin!
Simply because God just forgives us out of his grace he doesn’t need price to forgive ,
just repent and you'll be forgiven .
and this is what Jesus himself taught in the bible when
he said (( I came to call sinners to repentance )) Luke 5:32
and also his statement (( repent for the kingdom of God is near )) Matthew 4:17
So this is the simple way to always ask for forgiveness.
When you embrace Islam, you will not leave Jesus ..
But you will embrace the pure and true message of Christ .. Which hadn't been changed or distorted ..
It is the worshipping of God alone who has no partner ,no mediator .
This you will believe that Jesus is the servant of God and His Messenger and not a God nor a Son of God ..
This is the correct message that was called by Christ and all the messengers and prophets of God the only true Lord.. ..
Jesus is a prophet from Quran
"…The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of God, and His word (command) which He conveyed unto Mary..."
(Quran 4:171)
" And [make him, Jesus] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah . And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead - by permission of Allah . And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed that is a sign for you, if you are believers."
Quran 3:49
Surely, Allah is my Lord and your Lord; so serve Him alone. This is the straight way.'
(Quran 3:51)
The word ‘MESSENGER’ according to the Oxford dictionary is a person who carries a message.
The word “messenger” in the Bible
Jesus a prophet
There is no language where God and prophet are synonymous terms. God cannot be a prophet. We read in the same Bible Jesus was referred to as a prophet
How do you worship a man If someone who knows Jesus better considers him a prophet of God?!
The disciples who had followed Jesus for three and a half years knew him better but never knew that Jesus was God.
Also People who lived at Jesus time called him a prophet .
Matthew 21:11
"And the crowds were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee."
Luke 7:16
"Fear gripped them all, and they began glorifying God, saying, "A great prophet has arisen among us!" and, "God has visited His people!"
John 4:19
"The woman said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.
Matthew 21:46
" When they sought to seize Him, they feared the people, because they considered Him to be a prophet.
John 6:14
" Therefore when the people saw the sign which he had performed, they said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world."
John 7:40
"Some of the people therefore, when they heard these words, were saying, "This certainly is the Prophet."
John 9:17
"So they said to the blind man again, "What do you say about him, since he opened your eyes?" And he said, "He is a prophet."
Luke 24:19
"And he said to them, "What things?" And they said to him, "The things about Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word in the sight of God and all the people."
“But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house” (Mark 6:4)
The word “Sent” in the Bible
Jesus answered, "My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who SENT me.” (John 7:16)
“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that SENT me, and to finish his work.” (John 4:34)
“Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he #SENT me” (john 8:42)
“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath #SENT me.” (John 5:30)
“For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which #SENT me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” ( John 12:49)
From the above references if Jesus is God he wouldn’t have been sent by another God but he would just come by himself. But these prove that he was just a messenger like any other messenger that God sent before him, e. g. Moses, Jacob, Abraham, etc.
